QUESTION:

All I hear is static.

ANSWER:

Be sure the squelch is turned on. If squelch is off all you would hear is static when no one is transmitting. Also, check the channel to make sure you are on the correct channel. There could possibly be a problem with that particular channel. Make sure you have a fresh battery.
